Most people don't think of fashion when they think of Colorado, I mean neither do I, really. My mind drifts to the more stereo typical: skiing/snowboarding (which I do participate in), mountains, no oxygen, and cowboys. That last one not so much, but I guess what I'm trying to prove is there is great style out there on the streets. I think it would be best to describe the basic outfit for both guys and gals in Colorado, it's pretty simple and prevalent on college campuses. We start with the ladies: black leggings, uggs, and the top can have some variety, but most likely not, either a sweatshirt with greek letters, an american eagle/ abercrombie long sleeve top or some variation of some type of warm clothing for the top. Before I go any further on the legging rant I'm about to embark on I will say this; when I was a junior in High School I was among the first of the girls to wear leggings, I think there was one other girl who had caught on early. Anyways, nobody was wearing them and I felt pretty cool, but I knew something as simple as this would easily catch on and I was dreading that day. Soon enough they started selling them in stores at the mall and I knew my days of wearing the leggings were numbered before I had to move onto something new. In those days I really wanted to be original to the point of snobbish-ness, I've grown up since then but there are still those moments haha!
To my point I am so tired of seeing girls just wearing the leggings the same way everyday. I'm not saying I don't wear leggings anymore, I do, but just not as often and maybe differently then most. Okay time to move on to the other sex.
Guys in Colorado are pretty relaxed and not too worried about their appearance, I guess you could say that about any guy anywhere, but hey this is my Colorado style blog so don't be hatin'.
Most guys in Colorado my age dress like skateboarders/snowboarders. This means somewhat skinny jeans, flannel, beanies, and awesomely bright colored kicks ( I am a sucker for awesome sneakers I have to admit).
Now that you have my idea of what the norm in fashion is in the mile high city I will try to find people who have stepped away from the cookie cutter.
Dare to bare!

Something new
I don't know if "Something new" is a good title for my first post since this blog will be only another style blog in the ever growing fashion pool, but it is new for me. I figured it would be a good start for my career in the fashion business.
The purpose of this blog is to capture the great street styles found on everyday Coloradoan's and maybe a little trend commentary every once in awhile. Also, I'm making my own small statement against the Collegian since they rejected my idea for posting this in our school newspaper. I was so stoked that my idea would be a great addition and I was let down. So here I am stepping into this new world of style blogging hoping my posts can somehow inspire someone out there and maybe discover a new muse for the fashion world.
Since the meat and potatoes of this page is photography I, unfortunately, will have to wait until after Christmas when I get a nice camera to actually post any pictures. For now I'm going to try to post something every now and then till I have some good pics. I can't wait to get started and see how this develops!
Have a great day and dare to bare your style!
(I'll be watching!)
